Ten months after colliding with Tony Ralston, Charlie Adam has announced his retirement from football.

Attempting a shoulder charge on the Celtic defender Adam came off second best. As he got back to his feet and looked towards the goalmouth he saw Jota putting the ball in the Dundee net.

After a decade in English football the former Blackpool star returned to his hometown club in the summer of 2020 and helped them to promotion via the play-off.

Shuffling his playing time with multiple media appearances mixing with the big boys proved to be too much as Dundee toiled in the top flight.

Against Celtic in August he was substituted after 60 minutes in a 6-0 defeat, at Dens Park in November he survived until the 57th minute in a 4-2 defeat. When Dundee lost 3-2 to Celtic in February Adam wasn’t in the squad.
