Two Celts named by Steve Clarke for Ukraine clash

Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor are in the Scotland side for tonight’s match against Ukraine with Tony Ralston named among the substitutes.

Taylor is one of six changes that Steve Clarke has made with Ryan Porteous and Ryan Jack coming in for their first involvement in the September internationals.

Aaron Hickey has shaken off the knock that he suffered against Ireland, Ralston replaced him against Ireland but will start tonight’s match on the bench.

As ever there is plenty of Celtic connections in the squad with Craig Gordon and Jack Hendry starting, on the bench Ryan Christie, Stuart Armstrong and Declan Gallagher are on stand-by.

A draw would be enough for Scotland to top their group to gain promotion to League A, and gain a play-off slot for the European Championship Finals in 2024.

David Turnbull was in the original squad but returned to Celtic last week for treatment on an injury.
