Unless results take a sudden upturn Giovanni van Bronckhorst is about to find some past sins getting thrown in his face.

Like tossing away a six point lead in January to allow an Australian that wasn’t supposed to last until Christmas walk off with the Premiership title.

A car crash performance at Celtic Park in February left deep scars but a run to the final of the Europa League provided a decent distraction as Glasgow turned Green and White in celebration.

Another patchy performance in the transfer window was covered up by PSV Eindhoven’s dodgy keeper but yesterday reality returned. At the final whistle none of van Bronckhorst’s summer signings were on the park.

Ben Davies and John Souttar are on extended sick leave, Rabbi Matondo, apparently the Welsh Usain Bolt, has disappeared, Tom Lawrence is injured and Turksh starlet Ridvan Yilmaz is learning his trade watching Borna Barisic.

Antonio Colak started as a lone striker before being hooked for Alfredo Morelos, Malik Tillman put in a display that Amad Diallo would have been giggling at.

Ajax, Aberdeen and Napoli are next on the fixture list, unless there is a drastic improvement van Bronckhorst may have to face the wrath of angry bears long before he celebrates his first anniversary in the job.

Is it actually unthinkable to believe that Sevco could end up third this season. They’re already nursing the crocks, the new signings are less than impressive -the non crocked that is – another couple of knocks and they’re down to the bare bones of a squad that have already shipped 5 points. I will not be surprised if they collapse when VAR is introduced and the offside goals are dismissed. We also will be victims of VAR, however, we will be well ahead anyway. Love being CELTIC supporter just now.

PS, have always loved being a CELTIC supporter, throughout the good and not so good times over 50 years or so.
