US soccer provide Cameron Carter-Vickers injury update

The injury that forced Cameron Carter-Vickers to miss Sunday’s defeat from St Mirren has been described as minor.

Ange Postecoglou tends to be quite vague when it comes to injuries, after the game in Paisley he explained that the defender had ‘pulled up’ during the draw with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Carter-Vickers should have been on international duty with the USA but was forced to pull out. With his World Cup place not secure the friendlies against Germany and Saudi Arabia would have given him a chance to make a claim for one of the squad places for Qatar.

The defeat at St Mirren was the first SPFL match that the former Spur defender has missed this year, with Carl Starfelt also out injured Ange Postecoglou was without his first choice defensive partnership.

It will be late next week before there is any further update on the injury, with 13 matches between October 1 and November 12 no chances can be taken over fitness.
