Like most Celtic fans Chris Sutton wasn’t quite sure what to make of Celtic’s 1-1 draw away to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

With just two away wins in the competition spread over more than 20 years a point on the road can never be sniffed at but if ever there was an opportunity to take three points it was tonight in Warsaw.

Apart from a 10 minute spell after Mykhaylo Mudryk equalised for Shakhtar Celtic dominated the match but despite all the stats they only took a point from the match.

There was pride in the way that Celtic took the game to Shakhtar but the outcome could have been finished before the break after a 10th minute Reo Hatate shot was deflected into the net.

In the second half Joe Hart was barely tested. At the other end Jota had two solo runs deep into the Shakhtar defence, Daizen Maeda and Giorgos Giakou, akis had chances in te last 10 minutes but as the final whistle blew both teams walked away with a point a piece.
