Media smoothie Ally McCoist became just another ragin supporter as he watched Ajax go to town on the Tribute Act last night.

Back in 2012 the extremely well paid cheekie chappy led the club out at Brechin City in their first ever fixture, last night in Amsterdam it looked like Giovanni van Bronckhorst was in charge of a collection of bin-men, taxi drivers, butchers, students and school teachers.

The first goal was a classic. Ajax had already come close to scoring from a corner on the left, when they sent one over from the right Connor Goldson and James Tavernier decided to mark each other as Edson Alvarez headed home unchallenged from eight yards out.

McCoist led teams to defeats against Annan, Peterhead, Forfar and Alloa but even he couldn’t come to terms with the shambles that he was watching from Amsterdam.
