In the middle of an international break FIFA 23 has come to the rescue with a brilliantly ridiculous story.
After winning two medals in seven years and failing to attract any transfer attention James Tavernier is apparently the best footballer in Scotland.
Yes the inspirational figure that wore the captain’s armband in three matches where his side were fortunate to get away with a 0-11 aggregate.
It was a story screaming out for the full on Daily Record treatment even if their Twitter account was reminded that Tavpen isn’t the best right-back in Glasgow, followed quickly by a reminder that he isn’t the best in his family with brother Marcus leaving Middlesbrough for Bournemouth in the summer.
In classic fashion the Record bashed out:
The FIFA 23 Rangers player ratings have been revealed ahead of the new EA Sports game launch later this month.
This season’s game will be released on Tuesday, 27 September, and as fans eagerly await that date, the player ratings have been revealed. Amongst them are the Ibrox outfit, with the latest player stats no doubt creating grounds for debate again this year.
Some of most notable ratings include skipper James Tavernier who takes top spot with a 78 overall – making him the best player in the country ahead of Celtic’s Callum McGregor (77). Stars such as Ryan Kent, Connor Goldson and John Lundstram also fair pretty well rating 76, 75 and 75 respectively. Gio van Bronckhorst has had a bit of a striker dilemma in the opening stages of the 2022/23 campaign, both domestically and in the Champions League, with new face Antonio Colak and Alfredo Morelos competing for the jersey. But FIFA have put one a whole four points above the other with Morelos still rated highly.

I refuse to believe that even rangers fans would agree with that. He isn’t even the best player for their club never mind the best player in Scotland. A good player for Europe in one season but he is also serially caught out of position by every team not facing relegation.

No even the best player in his family.

He’s not even the best player in Govan. Why do you lot run our game down? What must other leagues think if we’re touting this failure as Scotland’s best? Embarrassing.
