The timing of Celtic’s winning goal away to St Johnstone creates its own drama but the build up and execution make it a very worthy contender for the club’s Goal of The Month.

James McCarthy and Alexandro Bernabei have barely featured in the SPFL this season but when their moment arrived both were ready and waiting.

There was no time to dwell on the sickening feeling of Alex Mitchell’s 93rd minute equaliser when Celtic pushed down the left. McCarthy fed the ball into the path of the overlapping Bernabei, his cross was perfectly delivered with Giorgos Giakoumakis shaking off the home defenders to smash the ball into the net from inside the six yard box.

The excitement and joy in the Stands matched that on the pitch with various players jumping in to celebrate with the fans.

There was still time for St Johnstone to restart and mount another attack, it was cleared with the sound of the final whistle greeted with a mix of relief and joy.
