There are more than enough VAR related controversies for anyone to discuss but undeterred by the Laws of the Game the team at Sportscene decided to create a new issue as they reviewed Celtic’s 3-0 win at Livingston.

As a striker Kenny Miller chased every possible advantage during his playing days with offside a constant problem.

FIFA has regularly tinkered with the rules in recent times, the most significant being that you can only be offside if you are on the ball.

Smart strikers use this to drop deep without being involved in play, they can then dart back to get involved while always occupying the thoughts of marking defenders.

No matter what Miller and Mikey Stewart may wish Kyogo was never offside in the build up to Celtic’s second goal. Had Ayo Obileye not cut out the pass and Kyogo netted he would have been offside, fortunately for Celtic the pass was cut out and play continued.

That is the rules, every top level striker uses it, that sort of knowledge gives them the edge.

Scotlands sevco media shame the worst sports media in the world .

That says it all about the standard of football punditry in Scotland: ignorance of the basic rules.

It was clear for all to see that Kyogo took no pert in the action leading to the goal, as the ball was prevented from reaching him by a defender, and he was not interfering with play in any way.

None of this would have mattered to Miller since he is there to talk down Celtic and bum up sevco at every opportunity.

As for Stewart, he is nowhere near as smart as he clearly thinks he is.
