Barry Ferguson calls out van Bronckhorst over Ibrox duds

Barry Ferguson admits that he doesn’t know who has the final say on transfers at Ibrox.

During the summer the club brought in Antonio Colak and six other mediocre signings on the back of selling Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey for just over £20m.

Against Napoli in the Champions League none of the summer signings made the starting XI as the Italians strolled to a 3-0 victory.

Injuries have forced Ben Davies into the side but after three months Ridvan Yilmaz has sampled just 188 minutes of play despite costing £5m from Besiktas.

The influence of transfer guru Ross Wilson is casting a shadow over the manager, picking up on a debate on Go Radio about recruitment, The Sun reports Ferguson saying:

I have been asked this question I don’t know how many times. If it’s me at a club – the manager gets the final say. But I don’t know if that’s the way Rangers are operating. I’d love to find out – I don’t know who is ticking it off, saying ‘I want him’.

Next Wednesday van Bronckhorst takes his misfits to Napoli to face the side that demolished Liverpool 7-1 at home.
