Giovanni van Bronckhorst can stumble on at Ibrox after restricting Napoli to a 3-0 winning margin in tonight’s Champions League tie.

It was another meek surrender by the Ibrox Tribute Act but after losing 7-1 to Liverpool another complete humiliation was avoided.

Giovanni Simeone scored twice in the first 16 minutes, with the win secured and Liverpool at Anfield next week the Italians, making six changes from the side that beat Roma on Sunday, eased back into training mode.

Van Bronckhorst looked a haunted man on the touchline but with Napoli stuck in third gear there was no further scoring until Leo Ostigard headed home from a corner in the 80th minute.

Despite losing five matches and with a goal difference of 1-19 van Bronckhorst can stumble on with Aberdeen visiting Ibrox on Saturday followed by Ajax on Tuesday.
