With an official allocation of under 2,000 Celtic fans have been using their ingenuity to find ways of getting into next week’s match against Real Madrid.

The match will officially be a dead rubber but watching their side in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium has been top of the Bucket List for many fans.

Over the last 20 years Celtic have been fairly regular visitors to The Nou Camp, San Siro and Old Trafford but the home of Europe’s most successful club has been elusive for more than 40 years.

Three years ago Celtic had more than 10,000 fans in the Olympic Stadium in Rome for a famous win over Lazio, next week a similar number will be in Madrid hatching plans to get inside the iconic stadium.

Madrid have advised that Celtic fans who have tickets for the home sections are not guaranteed entry. We recommend that in such cases fans do not wear colours.

Normally there is a very stern warning not to attempt entering the home sections in a European tie.

With thousands of Scots and Irish fans living in Spain there are bound to be Celtic fans in the home end. The vendors of half-n-half scarves could be in for a very lucrative night.
