Steven McLean completed a day of baffling decisions with a stoppage time free kick against Alexandro Bernabei after he had brushed off the despairing challenges of two Hibs defenders.
It wasn’t a decision that changed the course of the game but it sealed a baffling day of decisions that saw Ryan Porteous repeatedly earn free kicks and a very harsh booking for Matt O’Riley.

Meanwhile the much-anticipated Hearts vs Celtic clash on Saturday, which will be the first televised game to have VAR will be operated by Steven McLean, with official Nick Walsh on the pitch. For Rangers clash with Livingston at Ibrox, it will be Greg Aitken operating the VAR with David Munro the match official.
Nick Walsh will referee Saturday’s match, his third Celtic game out of the first 11 that Ange Postecoglou’s side have played in the SPFL Premiership.
No details or explanations about VAR are available on the SFA website to give fans a guide as to what decisions will, and most importantly won’t be covered by VAR.
No mention of VAR officials on the SFA website at 7.20pm on Tuesday.
There’s no justification for this at all and we’d love to hear the referee’s explanation.

Four Sevco fans, what could possibly go wrong?
The solution for VAR would be to bring in foreign officials however as that will never happen then the next best option would be female officials.
They would be less likely to have a soft spot for any of the Ibrox club’s…..
