Even the Daily Record can dumb down as a page in today’s issue illustrates.

Trying to find a gloss to put on a 7-1 defeat is quite a task, even for the Glasgow based publisher which has a long history of finding the bright side on the farkest of days.

Turning towards social media for guidance is their survival policy as print sales fall off a cliff with ‘influencers’ to be found online.

Peak Andrew Dallas could only stretch to four penalties in one match, against St Mirren in 2019 although Nick Walsh, John Beaton, Steven McLean and others can be relied on to provide a reliable flow of assists for Tavpen.

After Wednesday’s hammering from Liverpool Giovanni van Bronckhorst has put back his media conference until Saturday.
