After a 16 match wait stretching back to April Celtic were finally awarded a penalty in yesterday’s 3-0 win over St Johnstone. The fact that Giorgos Giakoumakis missed from the spot is an issue for Ange Postecoglou.
Yesterday’s 84th minute decision came after Willie Collum opted to take a look at the pitch-side VAR monitor but there was an earlier incident that left Celtic fans completely baffled.
Throughout the match Sead Haksabanovic had a frustrating time against the very close marking of Nicky Devlin.
Early in the second half Collum had to call the two players together for a word of warning after the Celtic winger had ended up on the deck.
Missed a penalty.

Did Willie Collum get it right with Nicky Devlin penalty incident?
Yes, you can see contact from Haksabanovic
No, Devlin panicked and fell onto the ball
Not long after that Devlin was using his body to hold off Haksabanovic as the ball came into the Livingston penalty box. With the ball about to stop the Celtic winger tried to get around the left of his opponent only for Devlin to fall on top of the ball, grabbing it with both hands to make sure nothing developed.
Watching the incident unravel Collum blew for a free kick with nothing more than standard contact from Haksabanovic, the look on his face told its own story.
