After a couple of appearances on the road Alexandro Bernabei finally got to sample a pre-match huddle and starting appearance at Celtic Park.
Celtic’s first ever Argentinian had the misfortune to run into Greg Taylor in the best form of his career but undeterred Bernabei has taken every opportunity given to impress Ange Postecoglou.
A brush with the law didn’t help his cause but soon afterwards he got a brief appearance off the bench against Dundee United followed by an impressive starting role in the League Cup win at Ross County.
Things went quiet until the match at St Johnstone a week ago, in stoppage time Bernabei delivered the telling cross for Giorgos Giakoumakis to score the winning goal. A Celtic career was off and running.
Similarly on Saturday that duo combined for a goal against Hibs but it was the link up play with Sead Haksabanovic that most caught the eye. A 10 minute taster against RB Leipzig had the new bhoy ready and prepared.
At the very least Bernabei can expect to have a role similar to Tony Ralston in the opposite full-back position.
