Albian Ajeti scored his first goal in a year yesterday as he netted for Srurn Graz in their 3-0 win away to Austria Vienna.

The striker scored away to Real Betis on September 16, a few days after a double against Ross County that suggested that Ange Postecoglou could revive his pre-West Ham form.

A blank at Livingston followed by a poor showing at home to Dundee United were followed by the return of Kyogo Furuhashi as Ajeti drifted into the background with Real Betis at home in December as part of a shadow side his last Celtic appearance.

At the end of the summer transfer window a loan deal with Sturm Graz was agreed, yesterday, in his third appearance for the club he rediscovered his goal touch.

Picking up on a report from Austria, the Daily Record reports Ajeti saying:

It was a great team goal, it played out very nicely. I could have done one or two more things today, but it’s coming slowly.

My legs are getting fitter. I’m happy that I was able to score the first goal for Sturm. But the three points are much more important.

Not everything works perfectly yet. We don’t understand each other perfectly yet. We get along really well and we train together every day. I’m just trying to help the team.

With Vasilis Barkas showing form in Holland with Utrecht Celtic might be able to find clubs next summer prepared to take on two players forever related with the 20/21 collapse rather than having to pay up the remainder of their contracts.
