Aston Villa fans are pleading with their club to sack Steven Gerrard.

‘Get out of our club’ the fans chanted at Craven Cottage as they watched a 3-0 defeat to Fulham, on line the message was a very clear #GERRARDOUT.

Tonight’s defeat leaves Villa three points off bottom spot with just nine points from 11 matches and a very clear disconnect between the manager, players and supporters.

Underlining the discontent is the grim, predictable brand of football being played, similar to that used by his successor at Ibrox, Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

A year ago fans and pundits speculated about Villa being a stepping stone to Anfield for the former Liverpool captain, anyone that had watched him at Ibrox knew that he would be found out in the EPL without the special benefits afforded to managers at Ibrox.

After 39 matches in charge of Villa Gerrard has 13 wins to his name. As the management door closes his arrogance and boring personality won’t see too many media doors opening to a managerial flop who is despised by opposing fans throughout England.
