Kenny Miller has warned Giovanni van Bronckhorst that patience is running out on his Ibrox regime.

After losing 7-1 at home to Liverpool there were the first signs of discontent as angry bears accused players of chucking it with Mo Salah scoring the easiest hat-trick of his career.

The three matches since then have confirmed the feeling that the players have switched off- the next three could prove pivotal if the Dutchman is to survive through to his first anniversary in the job.

If Motherwell, Dundee and Livingston was a slog facing Napoli, Aberdeen and Ajax could turn into a nightmare if van Bronckhorst can’t spur his squad into looking interested.

Picking up on Miller’s appearance on Sportsound, The Sun reports the former Scotland striker saying:

The criticism comes with the territory as the Rangers manager. I wouldn’t expect anything else but the kind of fighting talk that Giovanni came out with after the game, but he’ll understand the fans’ views more than anybody.

Is it the right time to make a change? Probably not but results need to change, performances need to be better and it’s got to improve quickly.

Even before Saturday’s game, Giovanni spoke about wanting to see a more entertaining style rather than just getting the job done.

He wants more from his team and he knows where everyone’s coming from in relation to the criticism of the performances.

But I’m watching it and I’m thinking, ‘They don’t look like scoring, they’re not creating enough chances’.

A lot has been made about the performances for the majority of the domestic season – even when the team’s been winning.

The results in Europe with those heavy defeats haven’t helped – they’ve dented confidence. It’s all added more pressure on the players and the manager.

Saturday’s game was symptomatic of the way Rangers have been playing this season. If they continue to put in low-energy, lacklustre performances, you’re going to drop points.

In their last two home matches, a win over Dundee and draw with Livingston the team has been booed off the park.
