SFA hammer Jim Goodwin with dug-out ban over Porteous claim

Jim Goodwin has been given a six match suspension over his comments about Ryan Porteous.

The Aberdeen boss acused the defender of conning referee David Dickenson into awarding Hibs a penalty during a recent match at Easter Road.

Goodwin explained that he had warned Dickenson about the antics of Porteous before the match but in the 44th minute the referee pointed to the penalty spot with on loan Celtic defender Liam Scales given a second yellow card with the Dons losing three goals after being reduced to 10 men.

Following the 3-1 defeat Goodwin called out Porteous and Dickenson but will now have to watch his side from the sidelines for six matches with the threat of a further two match ban if he repeats the offense this season.

Scales was suspended for Aberdeen’s 4-1 win over Kilmarnock but is now available again for selection.
