Brian Laudrup is the latest former Rangers star to question the decision making of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Whether it is transfer policy or tactics it seems that almost every day ghosts from the past are popping up to question the current Ibrox boss.

Apart from a brief spell at Ibrox where he impressed domestically Brian achieved very little in his career as he lived off the achievements of big brother Michael who starred for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Brian played in a couple of humiliating European campaigns under Walter Smith including the 97/98 season when Malmo and Strasbourg humiliated the legendary Ibrox boss in Europe before they caved in to Wim Jansen.

Four hammerings in six weeks have piled the pressure on van Bronckhorst, picking up on Laudrup’s column in the Daily Mail the Record reports the average Dane saying:

You can see it’s a team lacking a bit of confidence. At the end of last season, after losing the Europa League Final and winning the Scottish Cup, Rangers felt really tough to beat. They looked like a side that never gave up and could run all day.

You have to say there’s been something missing in many of the games this season. A single cause is very difficult to identify. Lots of things have come together, including injuries and the slow impact of some summer additions.

After flopping at Chelsea and Ajax post Ibrox, Laudrup returned to Denmark for an easy time focussed on media work.
