They got away with one- Kris Boyd’s angry Celtic attack defies logic

According to Kris Boyd Celtic got away with one today.

Sharing his views on Sky Sports the result seemed to upset the former Kilmarnock striker with his comments in complete contrast to the match stats. According to Sky Sports, Celtic had 74.9% possession, in terms of shots at goal Celtic edged that by 11 to 8.

On another day, such as away to Dundee United in August Liel Abada would have scored a hat-trick. For unknown reasons his touch around goal deserted him. Similarly, Daizen Maeda should have been on the scoresheet but when the chips are down Giorgos Giakoumakis came up with the goods.

Rather than feeling sorry for themselves over a 93rd minute equaliser from Alex Mitchell, Celtic got themselves together. Alexandro Bernabei and James McCarthy combined, the cross was perfect as was the finish from Giakoumakis, but Boyd wasn’t impressed. Far from it.

Listening in to Boyd’s reaction on Sky Sports, the Glasgow Times reports the former Kilmarnock star saying:

When you see the way they’ve been able to steam-roll in the early parts of the season, teams are starting to sit in against them.

Today we thought it was just going to be Nicky Clark up on his own – it was Jamie Murphy up there with him.

It didn’t really happen in the first-half, but in the second-half they were trying to get bodies forward, they were missing out the midfield and trying to make Celtic defend.

It’s very difficult in every game you play to take every single chance. Celtic, they should be killing teams off. When you look at the numbers, they should’ve won this easy but they’ve got away with this one today.

140 years of history ended leaving behnd a shamefull mountain of debt then claiming to be the same club which not one of the gutless media will call out. That is what i would say is getting away with one. We will never ever let them forget the truth.

Did he mention the performance of the officials ? Jist asking

  • John Copeland says:

Boyd also forget to mention that today’s result is the kind that wins you league titles ! Conveniently.

  • Alison Livingstone says:

He is right. We did get away with one.

    Another poor performance

Couldn’t agree more, looked like they didn’t know the formation, passing poor, lost count amount of times two players went for same ball,

  • CeltForLife says:

Funny how the wee eagle-eyed baldy linesman flagged for offside at every opportunity even when there was no offside…yet he missed the clear hand ball by the home player. If I was “paranoid” I might think the official was dreaming of pints being bought for him in the Crown Bar.

Nothing wrong with the comments, its just the clown that made them.

  • Kevin McGrandles says:

That man is nothing but a bitter clown

  • Eric dillon says:

Kris Boyd is such a bigot he should ‘nt be given a job on any football channel. He should also remember that one can’t be as lucky as Rangers to have all the services of officials constantly getting Rangers out of a mess.
