A Ukrainian football reporter in London has explained the build up to yesterday’s media question to Ange Postecoglou about ticket prices.

All away tickets for Celtic Park on Champions League nights are priced at £60 with non-season ticket holders in the home sections paying similar prices.

Real Madrid and RB Leipzig fans have paid that price but clearly there are different circumstances involved for Shakhtar Donetsk with thousands of Ukrainian’s arriving in the UK since the turn of the year.

Watching their team playing in the Champions League would be a welcome distraction but with tickets costing £24m more than Celtic fans were charged in Warsaw it seems that £60 was out of reach for some Shakhtar fans.

More detail on the issue are on the @ZoryaLondonsk Twitter account.

Ange Postecoglou has more than enough to deal with without getting involved in ticket issues but it seems that there wasn’t much response from Celtic- until the question went public.

Tonight many UK-based Shakhtar fans will be watching their team live in action for the first time in months.
