Giovanni van Bronckhorst has washed his hands of Kemar Roofe- pointing out that the striker was signed with a known history of injury problems.
Ross Wilson signed off the £4m deal with Anderlecht in August 2020 with the Belgian side happy to turn over a profit on the former Leeds United striker.
Roofe played just 13 matches during his season in Belgium with even that figure looking optimistic this season as he heads into the World Cup break with 30 minutes playing time from two substitute appearances.
After coming on in the 82nd minute against Livingston last Saturday the striker, who will be 30 in January is facing another lay-off as van Bronckhorst explained yesterday:
Kemar has picked up an injury. He will be out for a couple of weeks. It’s an injury in the same area but a different injury.
Firstly it’s very frustrating for Kemar. He has a history of injuries, not only since he has been here but also before he arrived.
He works hard. He is trying to come back and whenever he comes back there is a setback within a couple of weeks and that’s very frustrating for him.
Roofe is believed to be on a similar basic wage to John Lundstram with both contracts running until May 2024.

Steven Gerrard insists he does not need to sell players to balance Rangers’ books.
