For reasons other than ability, Nick Walsh is the rising star on the Scottish refereeing circuit.

Towards the end of the Lockdown season he was put in charge of a Glasgow Derby at Ibrox which was a clear sign that he had impressed Crawford Allan and the faceless men inside the SFA Referee Committee.

Last season he had an incredible run of fixtures, red carding Ryan Porteous, Stephen O’Donnell and Josh Ginnelly between October 3 and December 12 in matches against the Ibrox Tribute Act.

Walsh did show his generous nature to St Johnstone as their players booted lumps out of Celtic in two matches over the same period. Booking Cameron Carter-Vickers for being punched then kicked by Chris Kane provoked Celtic chairman Ian Bankier into claiming that the club had deep concerns about referees. Typically nothing was done by the conflicted Celtic board.

Already this season Walsh has been in charge of three matches involving Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side, again producing strangely conflicting decision making.

13 minutes into the Glasgow derby, with Celtic already leading 1-0 he didn’t want to know when Ryan Kent ran into the back of Liel Abada. That helped keep the scoreline down to an acceptable 3-0 at half-time with Jon McLaughlin’s howler completing the scoring.

At Ibrox yesterday the home side were leading 1-0 when Declan Gallagher cleared a low ball fired towards goal in the 30th minute. There was barely an appeal for a penalty as Antonio Colak fell over the St Mirren defender but Walsh spotted it, Tavpen completed the job.

Tomorrow Walsh will be back at the day job, helping the fitness of Murray Park starlets attending Boclair Academy.

I told you all the other day Colak would become WORLD CLASS striker now it has become true.
Ross Pilcher (something fishy about that name)writes in the daily sevco today that Colak is in the top ten ratings as a world class top striker.
As I said a few days ago it was only a matter of time before he got compared with Haaland and the rest and there it is in black and white in the daily sevco.
Only a matter of time now before £500 million transfer fees get sprayed around.

This will keep going on until our gutless board opens their mouth.

If the world is full of cheats and the referees are cheats too, then who’s to notice?
