Sead Haksabanovic has revealed that he kept his move to Celtic quiet from long term friend Jordan Larsson.

Problems at Rubin Kazan opened the door for the Montenegrin international to join Celtic while a flutter of speculation that free agent Larsson could follow his Dad to Glasgow came to a halt when he completed a move to Schalke 04.

As young professionals Haksabanovic and Larsson were close pals but when it came to his big move the new Celtic winger kept his pal out of the loop as he explained to the Daily Record:

I didn’t because I didn’t want anybody to know. But he messaged me when it was done and said: We are happy for you, it’s a great club, they will take care of you, if you need anything you can ask me.

From his debut away to Ross County in the League Cup Haksabanovic has caught the eye of Celtic fas with his pace and direct approach to attacking.

The 23-year-old seems certain to feature at some point away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League as Celtic look to take something from the trip to Germany to boost their hopes of advancing in the competition.

Despite Henrik’s exploits for Celtic alongside some high profile team-mates he never made it beyond the group stage while in Glasgow although he did make up for that in 2006 when he won the trophy for Barcelona by beating Arsenal in the final.
