Andrew Dallas will be on VAR duty on Saturday as Giovanni van Bronckhorst takes his squad to face St Mirren.

When the two clubs met at Ibrox in February 2019 the Lanarkshire based official handed four penalties to the home side.

Dallas hasn’t taken charge of any matches this season but with his Daddy working away in the background it was a certainty that he would become a VAR official.

While out on the park Dallas Mini became notorious for the award of extremely soft penalties to the Ibrox side.

Four months before the ‘4 pens’ match he awarded penalties in the 84th and 87th minutes to ensure a 4-1 win away to Hamilton Accies.

Kevin Clancy will be on the pitch for Saturday’s lunchtime match. John Beaton will referee Wednesday’s match against Hearts.

6 guaranteed points for the sevs.

  • Bob (original) says:

    Since you brought up that ‘statistically significant’ aberration of a ref awarding 4 penalties in a game;

We know the SFA and the Referees’ Association looked the other way, as per.

But, would anyone know: did the betting companies ever launch an investigation?
Plenty of red flags for 4 penalties being awared – and to the one team – you would guess.
And what would the odds have been?

Having Dallas as a VAR official just gives the impression that nepotism is alive and well at the SFA?

That is a very good question !! You would think Paddy power might have checked that out ? 4 honest mistakes

  • John S says:

The appointment of Andrew Dallas as a VAR official needs some explaining, given his career record. If it looks like corruption and smells like corruption…

  • William McGrandles says:

‘Rangers’ are in the queer stuff up to their necks what did you expect expect more controversial decisions with that spineless runt involved Scottish Football Referees have been corrupt for ever don’t expect var to change that

  • Steevo says:

Surprise surprise. Hearts appeal has been unsuccessful. Player unavailable for next game against who??? You guessed it.?Sevco

  • Douglas Smith says:

This is total corruption of the game up here. As far as the SFA are concerned it is imperative that referees and VAR referees will do their utmost to ensure Rangers don’t fall any further behind Celtic to make sure the Premier league is not over by January.
    Absolute rubbish!!
Guaranteed that the game on Saturday in Paisley the longer the game goes on at 0..0 or 1..1 Rangers will get a penalty.
    Scottish football is TOTALLY COTRUPT!!!
