Ange Postecoglou has provided injury updates on three of his players.
Joe Hart, Moritz Jenz and Giorgos Giakoumakis all played against Ross County on Saturday but weren’t listed for today’s friendly against Sydney FC.
With Callum McGregor out injured and four players on duty at the World Cup Finals the hoops squad was thinned right out as they lost 2-1 to the A-League outfit.
Speaking after the match the Daily Record reports Postecoglou saying:
Joe was a bit sore after the last game. Giako had a bit of an infected toe so he missed training. Both hopefully will train and be available for Sunday.
On Jenz, the Celtic boss added:
We are going through concussion protocols with him. He’s passed all the tests, but we will need to see by Sunday.
He is training individually at the moment. We are looking at a couple of things, but hopefully if he gets through everything properly he could be training on Saturday.
Stephen Welsh picked up a face injury late on in today’s match that puts a question mark over whether he will be available to face Everton on Sunday.
Bosun Lawal replaced Welsh in today’s match and could now start against Everton alongside Carl Starfelt in central defence.
Ben Siegrist replaced Hart in goals with Scott Bain on the bench, despite today’s defeat no risks will be taken on any players even though the next competitive match is a month away at Aberdeen on December 17.
