Late on Sunday night a variety of sources came out with the news that Michael Beale was heading to Ibrox with the possibility of an announcement today that he is taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Over the weekend the deal seemed to edge slowly forward, late on Saturday Jim White appeared to stall the move when he tweeted that direct talks hadn’t been held, on Sunday evening he claimed that there was direct contact and that he could see a deal going through.

What seems very clear is that no effort is being made by QPR to hang onto the manager that they appointed in the summer. Beale’s loyalty comments have quickly fallen apart.

It seems that Beale’s only reason for moving was to get out of the shadow of Steven Gerrard to generate interest in himself.

The credibility he earned for not speaking to Wolves has been trashed 10 times over by his loyalty claims accompanied by his shameless undermining of Giovanni van Bronckhorst by flirting for the Ibrox job.
