The fourth round draw of the Scottish Cup has sent Michael Beale’s club away to St Johnstone.

A 2-1 defeat from Callum Davidson’s side earlier this month turned the pressure up on Giovanni van Bronckhorst who was sacked a week later.

The Scottish Cup tie will be played on the weekend of January 21/22, with a League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden the previous weekend.

Beale was presented today as manager with a very similar fanfare to the one given to van Bronckhorst just over a year ago.

After his opening match at home to Hibs the new boss faces midweek away matches at Aberdeen and Ross County followed by home games against Celtic and Motherwell.

The cup double header will be a big focus, facing the second most successful club in Scotland over the last decade certainly isn’t the fixture that the former QPR boss would have chosen.

Celtic are at home to Morton in the fourth round draw of the Scottish Cup.
