With the most easily recognised shirt in sport there is a popular game for Celtic fans to play at major sporting events.

At major golf tournaments in the USA you can often spot a set of green and white hoops, at the World Cup Finals they are a little more likely.

A trip to Qatar doesn’t seem like as much fun as visiting Leipzig or Madrid but one Celtic fan was watching Holland kick off their campaign in style with a 2-0 win over Senegal.

There is a large number of Celtic fans working in the gulf states, in Dubai there is a thriving Celtic supporters club that has a full programme of social events as well as offering live viewing of matches whatever the kick-off time.

Virgil van Dijk made his World Cup debut marshalling Louis van Gaal’s defence while Jeremie Frimpong had to sit the match out on the bench.

With a winning start and Ecudaor and Qatar to be faced next the Dutch are capable of going far into the tournament after missing out on the 2018 event in Russia.
