Cameron Carter-Vickers will make his World Cup debut in tonight’s USA v Iran World Cup qualifier.
For non-footballing reasons it is the most anticipated match of the group stage with additional spice with both teams knowing that a win will take them into the last 16 of the competition.
Carter-Vickers hasn’t played in a competitive match for the USA but after watching from the bench against Wales and England he gets his big chance tonight. Ex Celt Timo Weah also plays from the start.
The youngest starting XI at #Qatar2022 thus far. ??

Most attention in the UK has been on the England v Wales match but the other group fixture is as close to a knock-out tie as you can get.
A draw or win for Iran will take them through with only a win good enough to take Carter-Vickers into the last 16.
England look favourites to top the group and face Senegal in the last 16 with the group runners up playing Holland in the next stage of the competition.
And CCV played a blinder tonight. Nuff said
