It didn’t take Jota long to go a Sydney walkabout- or be recognised by a delighted Celtic fan.
During the summer of intrigue when supporters waited on that elusive announcement that a deal had been agreed with Benfica images of the winger popped up in Ibiza, New York and Cancun.
Yesterday the setting was slightly more predictable, soon after checking in to Celtic’s hotel in Sydney Jota was recognised by a Celtic fan as he sampled the streets of the Australian city.

Celtic are in action on Wednesday night (Thursday 8.45am Celtic Park Time) against Sydney City before Sunday’s big match against Everton.
In-between the matches it looks like the players will have some downtime with at least one open training session followed by a meet and greet with supporters and other events where the Australian fans will get to meet the Scottish champions.
After the Everton match Jota is likely to pop up anywhere in the sun as he enjoys a little time off while keeping an eye on some team-mates in action at the World Cup Finals.
