Efe Ambrose is on route to an emotional return to Celtic Park on Scottish Cup duty with Morton in January.

The Nigerian enjoyed a five year stint playing for the hoops as they set off on their tun towards a second nine-in-a-row, playing alongside Kelvin Wilson in the side that beat Barcelona 2-1 in the Champions League.

After finishing last season at Dunfermline, Morton boss Dougie Imrie coaxed Ambrose back into action last month with the Greenock side riding high in The Championship with Efe starring in central defence.

As ever Celtic will be pleased with a home draw with the match falling the weekend after the hoops take on Kilmarnock in the semi-final of the League Cup at Hampden.

Last season the hoops lost out at the semi-final stage of the Scottish Cup, a success this season will see Ange Postecoglou complete his collection of domestic honours.
