Fair play to him- Beale makes big confession over Ange

Michael Beale has admitted that he faces a big task taking the momentum away from Ange Postecoglou.

A year ago Steven Gerrard raced off to Aston Villa with Giovanni van Bronckhorst inheriting a four point lead in the SPFL Premiership that was extended to six by the end of 2021.

On his return to Ibrox Beale has a nine point deficit to deal with against the reigning champions who have gone through 2022 with 29 wins, three draws and just one defeat in the SPFL Premiership.

Following the demanding schedule leading up to the World Cup break Postecoglou is hoping that Celtic will emerge stronger with the next Glasgow derby just five matches away.

It is a massive challenge for a rookie boss to take on a 56-year-old that has managed at a World Cup Finals and won the league in Australia, Japan and Scotland.

Picking up on today’s Sky Sports interview, Football Scotland reports the new Ibrox boss saying:

It’s going to be difficult. Ange has got a team with momentum. Fair play to him for the job he’s done until this point. My job is to chase him down. The players job is to chase him down. That’s a mentality shift from how we look at things. When I left here we were the one in front so the mentality has shifted and we have to chase them down.

It starts with all the other games, it doesn’t start with games against them. We have to get closer. The most important thing is we reconnect with our fans in terms of how we play. That’s really important

Before facing Celtic on January 2 Beale’s side face Hibs and Motherwell at Ibrox either side of a double header away to Aberdeen and Ross County on December 20 and 23.

The refs and VAR officials will do their utmost to ensure Mickey Boy gets his way.

However if we keep progressing it will make no difference in the long run.

BTW. I wouldn’t trust a word that comes out of that chanty wrasslin shite hawk’s mouth.

“When I left here we were the one in front…”

When you and Slippy left you knew fine well you weren’t going to be staying in front for much longer. The Wolves interest and all the dribbling praise from hun churnalists about you being the real brains behind Gerrard must have inflated your ego to a ludicrous degree if you believe your squad of muppets has a hope in hell of catching us. Ange with end your career you fool….
