Human Error- Leaks flow out of the SFA as Celtic request answers to Vargate call on Jota

The Daily Mail has revealed that ‘human error’ was to blame for the VAR image used to justify Jota’s ‘goal’ being disallowed against Motherwell on Wednesday night.

After four rounds of fixtures it seems that the operation of VAR has descended into chaos with a glut of debatable hand-ball decisions leading to penalties and confusing messages being sent out.

Using a camera on the half-way line Motherwell TV showed that there was a borderline decision to be made on whether or not Jota was offside when he ran onto a pass from Kyogo Furuhashi.

With VAR in operation additional cameras should be available to apply Hawkeye technology to provide a definite image of whether Jota was offside.

Instead, a few minutes after the goal was disallowed a distant image with unclear lines was shown to explain why the goal had been disallowed.

Last night The Sun claimed that one camera was viewing the dug-out area when the pass was made, this morning on the BBC Gossip page the Daily Mail are going with an unexplained human error. Handball and penalties are still subjective decisions but VAR should take human error out of offside calls.
