Besiktas are lining up a loan offer for Ridvan Yilmaz just months after selling the defender to Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The young defender was the most expensive summer signing as the Player Trading Model was launched on the back of selling Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey.

Yilmaz has been so ineffective that Borna Barisic has cemented his place in the side with the young Turk looking like he has walked into the wrong movie.

The Daily Record reports:

Beskitas are reportedly set to offer Ridvan Yilmaz a loan exit from Rangers in January – with claims that the full-back “wants” to leave the Scottish Premiership after just six months to rejoin the club he signed from.

The Ibrox side spent big on Yilmaz last summer with £5million paid out to Besiktas as Gio van Bronckhorst and sporting director Ross Wilson looked to bring in competition for Borna Barisic.

However he has been a largely peripheral figure since his big money move from Turkey, managing just seven appearances in all competitions since putting pen to paper with the Light Blues.

Reports in Turkey now suggest that a return to Beskitas could be on the cards as the defender looks for a temporary exit from Rangers to ramp up his game time.

FotoMac state that sporting director Ceyhun Kazanci hopes to meet with Rangers powerbrokers to negotiate a return for the 21-year-old on a six-month deal with boss Senol Gunes unhappy with the performances of West Ham loanee Arthur Masuaku.

The level of spending in January will indicate the level of support that van Bronckhorst has from the Ibrox board.
