Ally McCoist has admitted that there was no way back for Giovanni van Bronckhorst after loyal Ibrox fans started calling for the Dutchman to be sacked.
The TalkSPORT pundit knows what it is like when the bears turn on one of their own, in December 2014 he walked away into gardening leave with his side toiling in the Championship and drawn against Celtic in the semi-final of the League Cup.
Reaching the final of the Europa League gave van Bronckhorst credit in the bank but a horrendous Champions League campaign against a backdrop of two hammerings at Celtic Park took the Dutchman to the brink.
When a four point gap to Ange Postecoglou’s side stretched to nine points over the course of a week it became a case of when not if the manager was sacked.
? “The league performances and being so far behind Celtic is what cost his job.”
? “You could see the fans turning as well! That’s very difficult to turn that around.”
Ally McCoist isn’t surprised #RangersFC have sacked Van Bronckhorst ?

Despite the clamour for a real Rainjurz man to take charge it seems highly unlikely that McCoist will want to go head-to-head with Ange Postecoglou.
Things are not good for the new klub when Aunt Sally starts talking like this.
