New footage highlights Celtic’s very special assists

Celtic overcame another batch of questionable VAR decision to beat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park to maintain their seven point lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership.

During the second half Jota saw a ‘goal’ disallowed by a debatable offside call while Josh Morris was only yellow carded for a brutal attack on Carl Starfelt.

Away from those controversies Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda scored the goals that ensured that a clever volley from Ross Tierney was only a consolation effort.

Matt O’Riley hasn’t yet scored this season but his contribution to the opening goal is the definition of assist.

Winning a challenge against Callum Slattery he instantly anticipated where Kyogo would be with his delivery converted by the striker.

The assist for Celtic’s second goal wasn’t too shabby either with David Turnbull’s perfectly weighted pass met by Maeda in his stride with the substitute drliing his low shot into the net to see Celtic through to another away day win.
