Dave King has warned that if there is no changes in the Ibrox boardroom the company will be stagnating for a long time to come.

The South African based businessman stood with Douglas Park in March 2015 as they forced through a boardroom coup and worked in tandem for five years inside the Blue Room.

In March 2020 King walked away as chairman but with no offers to buy out his 15% stake in the club he has become a very vocal critic.

Knowing that no case can ever be made either way he has latched onto the claim that Steven Gerrard wouldn’t have left of King had been chairman. Additionally it is now being put out that Park forced the former Liverpool star out of the club just over a year ago.

King is now stirring up trouble ahead of the December 6 club AGM, telling Andy Devlin of The Sun:

The situation is recoverable. I think we can be back winning the title but the way things are going at the moment, unless changes are made to the leadership of the board – the leadership and executive of the club – I fear we will be stagnating for a long time to come.

We really should have invested and kicked on. We could have bought Steven what he wanted. He wanted to kick on, given that the money was there.

The impression I’m getting with the signings is we’re not getting as many as we want but I do believe the money is there.

I regret what happened. When I go back to 55, we should have kicked on with a great manager and defended the title. I think the board thought they could do it on the cheap.

So far the Ibrox board has resisted the option to dish up the dirt on King whose handling of the Sports Direct contract has cost the club at least £8m with the detail of the Castore Sports deal still to come to light. Last year King was repaid a £6m loan with interest from the company.

He voted to end the history of the old club in 2012 then has the brass neck to talk of 55. Trump does not have a look in compared to this shambles that the gutless sports media dare not call out.

    So, what’s his game then?
Don’t think King has the cash – or appetite – to further invest in RIFC/sevco ?

Is he agitating on behalf ot others?

As the largest single shareholder, the Blue Room can’t ignore him.
