Despite the availability of VAR John Beaton is still struggling with the handball rule.

Last month when Motherwell visited Celtic Park the Lanarkshire based referee decided to take no action when Ricki Lamie raised his arm to deflect a cross from Liel Abada.

Beaton had no problem showing a red card to Callum McGregor later in the match.

Last night he checked in for duty at Ibrox, well aware of the pressure that the home manager was under.

Penalty decisions, especially those involving handball, have gone through the roof in recent weeks, on Tuesday night Nick Walsh shared three penalties between Livingston and Hearts.

VAR official David Munro didn’t bother reviewing the incident, on Saturday Munro will be the match referee at Celtic’s match against Motherwell.

    • Scud Missile says:

Lol when it’s to late as sevco will be sitting top drawing clear with the decisions in their favour, and the other decisions against us watching sevco disappear into the horizon.

  • Scud Missile says:

Look until the fans actually do something about it this cheating will continue, start to boycott the away games just stay away and don’t take one ticket.
Then at the home games make as much noise with protests before the game outside the stadium then inside the stadium and again outside.
Walk away the last 10 to 15 minutes leaving an empty are stadium, they won’t be long in getting the message.
Better still stop buying merchandise from them hit them in the pocket as money is the only thing they understand and care about.

  • Ramos says:

Fed up getting cheated by refs. Everything is designed to keep gers and celts the top 2 teams. They share the tv games at the weekends. No wonder they make mire than other teams.

  • Tam says:

2 grade 1 referees 1 with slow motion replays alsorts of angles still managed to “cheat” and not a word said about it from either the SFA/SPFL, the head of refereeing, or the SMSM ….I wonder what team would have suffered had the grade 1 referees done the job they are payed for….. I’ve said it before,if the punishment for making “mistakes” is no punishment at all.. then why try to get it right

  • Tam says:

Will the SFA/SPFL pay back all the fines dished out over the years for people who claimed the referees got it wrong (suspensions can’t be undone). But an apology would help. The new technology has proven that those people were right
