Despite the availability of VAR John Beaton is still struggling with the handball rule.
Last month when Motherwell visited Celtic Park the Lanarkshire based referee decided to take no action when Ricki Lamie raised his arm to deflect a cross from Liel Abada.
Beaton had no problem showing a red card to Callum McGregor later in the match.
Last night he checked in for duty at Ibrox, well aware of the pressure that the home manager was under.
Penalty decisions, especially those involving handball, have gone through the roof in recent weeks, on Tuesday night Nick Walsh shared three penalties between Livingston and Hearts.

VAR official David Munro didn’t bother reviewing the incident, on Saturday Munro will be the match referee at Celtic’s match against Motherwell.
He’s at the John Beaton again, isn’t he?
