Trusted Ibrox messenger delivers ‘No panic, no showdown, no crisis’ soundbite

Jim White has been tasked with the job of denying that there is a crisis at Ibrox.

The TalkSPORT presenter is a loyal and true messenger, guaranteed to provide reach and not to ask questions about whether he is being used.

White is a regular MC for a variety of events at Ibrox with his fawning coverage of matters Ibrox first surfacing in the mid-eighties alongside Mister Souness.

Almost 40 years down the line that duet share the TalkSPORT airwaves on a Monday morning with a very sombre tone setting in over the last few months.

Falling seven points behind Celtic at the start of November is a sackable offence to many bears with social media swamped with cries for ‘sumbdy to dae sumthin’ but with money tight Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks set to stick it out.

The Scottish Express reports:

Talksport host Jim White said: “We understand that there are no crisis talks planned between the Rangers board and Gio van Bronckhorst.

“A Rangers source has told us that they speak every day and nothing will change in that regard.”

Former Ibrox boss Graeme Souness told the show: “Undoubtedly he’s a man under pressure. Miserable European campaign, losing to Celtic… it’s going to be difficult for him to recover. He’s got to beat Celtic twice. Celtic have to slip up.

“Managing Glasgow Rangers isn’t an easy job, as I’m sure managing Celtic isn’t. There’s games you’re expected to win simply because, certainly in my day, I could have one player that I bought for more money than the whole eleven players we were playing against. That in itself brought its own pressure.

Van Bronckhorst and his coaching staff have contracts running until May 2025.

Who will replace van Bronckhorst at Ibrox?

Wee Davie has the class and dignity for it

Robbie is the man, good European experience
