The Sun has uncovered two more Champions League records for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Lionhearts.
On Tuesday night the Ibrox Tribute Act pipped Viktoria Plzen to the tag of the wort ever team to play in the Champions League even though the Czech minnows were drawn alongside three genuine superpowers in Bayern Munch, Inter Milan and Barcelona.
As well as a record of played six lost six van Bronckhorst’s side managed to get on the end of a humiliating goal difference of 2-22.
Digging deeper into the stats issued by UEFA the Ibrox men can also claim the titles of least shots at goal and last shots on target.

Celtic 4 (joint 28th out 32), Rangers 2 (31st)
Only FC Copenhagen scored less goals than the Gers with one, while only the Danes and Rangers scored less than the Hoops.
On the other hand, Celtic’s four goals scored was the same as Bayer Leverkusen and just one less than Atletico Madrid.
Total attempts
Celtic 82 (12th), Rangers 44 (32nd)
These are damning numbers for the Ibrox men – who often employed a fairly conservative approach in games such as the away match with Liverpool at Anfield.
But while Celtic’s 82 attempts is laudable, it doesn’t exactly paint the full picture as it meant they only managed to score with 0.05% of all their efforts on goal.
Attempts on target
Celtic 29 (13th), Rangers 12 (32nd)
Once again the Gers come bottom of the pile for attempts on target, with their total of 12 three fewer than nearest other side Shakhtar Donetsk.
Celtic managed to get the same amount of attempts on target as Leipzig, Milan and Leverkusen – and more than qualified Tottenham, Dortmund and Club Brugge.
Van Bronckhorst recently revealed that talks are continuing to get Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos signing up onto bumper new deals.
