Nick Walsh took his penalty total to six from three matches since VAR was introduced to the Scottish game.

Three times during Livingston’s 2-1 win over Aberdeen the Bearsden based PE teacher pointed to the penalty spot after a VAR consultation.

In his first match with VAR Walsh refused Celtic a clear penalty when Michael Smith extended his arm to deflect a pass from James Forrest.

A week later it was Tavpen time at Ibrox when Aberdeen were the visitors.

BBC Scotland reports:

Livingston moved level on points with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership as they held off a second-half rally in a game that saw three penalties given for handball following VAR intervention.

The hosts led 2-0 at half-time through Jack Fitzwater’s low drive and a Sean Kelly spot-kick, with Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski’s penalty saved by Shamal George.

Luis Lopes did pull one back from the spot after the break, but despite dominating the visitors couldn’t find an equaliser.

On Saturday eagle-eyed Walsh alerted David Dickinson to a handball by Alexandro Bernabei but missed a red card assault on Giorgos Giakoumakis by Craig Sibbald

At last week’s Celtic AGM Michael Nicholson told shareholders that the club had been working to get the best possible match officials. He warned against teething problems with VAR which seems to have given Walsh and his colleagues a free pass to do as they please.

There isn’t a Celtic supporter out there who dosent feel that var is being used to enable the hun supporting referees help the new club from ibrox. Unfortunately a weak board at our club refusing to speak up on this matter will bc allow this to go on. We knew when we seen Boyd rae Ferguson and McCoist calling for var to be introduced what was coming. A ref who works at tge academy and Beaton who openly drinks with the support and are allowed referee our games is shocking.

Lol as the advert goes I’m Luvin It,because all you dafties that watch the FAKE RIGGED game are happily going along with these decisions as are our club.
But when sevco claw back that lead and go top because of these dodgy decisions all Hell will break loose but it will to late for the BITCHING.
So enjoy being top just now because it won’t last with decisions being made by officials in the back pocket of sevco and the SFA.
Remember to give that seven point lead a wave goodbye as the weeks go on the lead gets eaten into and sevco go top.
At which point the damage will be done and all protesting and BITCHING will be for nothing and fall on deaf ears, while sevco fans on FF and the klub laugh all the way to the bank for winning a league they won’t show the sponsors name with and the money from going straight into the champions league.
Oh and don’t shoot the messenger.

“The Best Possible Match officials” is an absolutely meaningless piece of tosh! That is what we have now and they’re hopeless!

    This right here:
“VAR which seems to have given Walsh and his colleagues a free pass to do as they please.”
