Josip Juranovic has been named in the Croatian World Cup squad.

The defender has been a regular starter in the Croatian side since the turn of the year with his place in the squad for Qatar never really in doubt.

Drawn alongside Belgium, Morocco and Canada, Zlatko Dalic’s squad are expected to advance to the knock-out stage although a repeat of their run in 2018 to the Final would see Juranovic miss out of at least two Celtic matches with the hoops having SPFL matches on December 17 and 20.

Eurosport announced the Croatian squad this morning:

Goalkeepers: Dominik Livakovic, Ivica Ivusic, Ivo Grbic

Defenders: Domagoj Vida, Dejan Lovren, Borna Barisic, Josip Juranovic, Josko Gvardiol, Borna Sosa, Josip Stanisic, Martin Erlic, Josip Sutalo

Midfielders: Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, Marcelo Brozovic, Mario Pasalic, Nikola Vlasic, Lovro Majer, Kristijan Jakic, Luka Sucic

Forwards: Ivan Perisic, Andrej Kramaric, Bruno Petkovic, Mislav Orsic, Ante Budimir, Marko Livaja

There has been fairly regular speculation linking Juranovic with a move away from Celtic, at the age of 27 an impressive showing at the World Cup Finals is likely to bring fresh interest ahead of the January transfer window.

Croatia open their World Cup fixtures against Morocco on Wednesday November 23.
