Aberdeen defender drools over the magic of Micky Beale

Young McCrorie is the latest name to drool over the incredible coaching powers of Micky Beale.

As a raw teenager pitched into first team action by Pedro Caixinha McCrorie got the full treatment as the Murray Park starlet to compare with Kieran Tierney.

Unfortunately reality intervened with the teenager taking some terrible beatings under Caixinha and Graeme Murty as he switched from central defence to right-back and defensive midfield.

A loan spell at Portsmouth suggested that he wasn’t destined for Serie A or La Liga before Aberdeen took him on loan before agreeing a permanent move for an undisclosed fee.

McCrorie spent a season mesmerised by Beale’s ability to lay out cones and bibs, tomorrow he is an opponent of the great man and told the Daily Record how highly he rates the former QPR boss:

Michael Beale is a really good coach, probably one of the best I’ve had in the game. I wish him all the best but hopefully we come out on top on Tuesday. He just simplifies everything and his man-management in the way his training and tactics are.

He covered a lot of small details which I hadn’t really had before. He didn’t just improve me, he improved a whole load of boys. Obviously, Rangers went unbeaten that season and I hope he does well.

That last comment won’t go down too well with Aberdeen supporters who pay McCrorie’s wages.
