Ange Postecoglou has yet to hear anything from Chelsea about their reported interest in Josip Juranovic.

The recurrence of a knee injury has put a question mark over Reece James with Graham Potter’s side in need of a quick fix at right-back.

Juranovic went to the World Cup in Qatar with speculation hanging over his Celtic future, after six outstanding displays taking Croatia to the semi-finals he has impressed in the biggest shop window of all.

Clubs from Barcelona and Manchester United have been linked with January bids for Juranovic but the focus yesterday, led by the Daily Mail and Sky Sports, turning towards Chelsea.

Asked about the transfer speculation about Juranovic, Postecoglou told the Daily Mail:

I can say I’ve heard nothing. Nothing’s happened. As I said a week or so ago, the speculation is what it is.

What I know is we are in a really good space as a club. Going into January we have already strengthened and hopefully we’ll strengthen further.

I’m in no doubt that by the end of January we’ll have a stronger squad than we did going into it.

Juranovic returned to training with Celtic on Tuesday and was an unused substitute in last night’s 4-0 win over Hibs.

With Tony Ralston injured and Reo Hatate a make shift right-back Juranovic looks like returning to the Celtic starting XI at Ibrox on Monday.
