Another classic fail from Alex Rae as he welcomes Ibrox legend to Reading

It certainly wasn’t a regional meeting of MENSA when Kris Boyd dropped in on Alex Rae at Reading.

Both men enjoyed the benefits of disguised remuneration scams during their time together at Ibrox which also seemed to provide the launch pad for their careers in the media.

After a few disastrous spells in management with Dundee and St Mirren Rae is now making do with playing No. 2 to Paul Ince at Reading who are dropping down the Championship table almost as quickly as QPR.

With no success stories to tweet about from Ibrox Rae decided on a historical tweet, typically he was miles off it as he claimed that his old buddy was the top scorer in the SPFL.

Formed in the summer of 2013, Boyd only managed to score 58 times in the SPFL, a figure dwarfed by Leigh Griffiths although he is one goal ahead of Odsonne Edouard who spent just four seasons at Celtic, the Frenchman did win three trebles which is three more than Rae’s pal.
