Anthony Joseph’s two point Celtic transfer update

After January signings from Japan and Canada Celtic are being linked with transfer interest in Egypt, UAE, Iran and South Korea.

With two of those nations qualifying for the World Cup Finals and Ange Postecoglou’s background virtually nothing can be ruled out in terms of where Celtic will be looking to strengthen their squad.

During the summer Alexandro Bernabei became Celtic’s first Argentinian signing with that trend expected to continue rather than scouring around the main European leagues although that option won’t be completely cut off.

Afsha is the only named target, in the summer he was reported to be close to a £300,000 move to Turkey but his club Al-Ahly are now looking at a fee closer to £4m.

As an attacking midfielder he could fit into a couple of positions under Postecoglou as the Celtic boss searches for the attacking edge that can make his side a threat at Champions League level.

Despite significant periods of possession and creating a high number of chances Celtic only managed four goals across six Champions League group matches which led to fourth place and an early European exit.
